Primorsky Trinity-Sergius Monastery house, Sergius poustinia (poustinia - a secluded settling of hermits), as the monastery was usually called, today it is the  Coastal Monastery of St. Sergius

1730-1740 - the reign  of  Peter the Great's native niece, Anna Ioannovna, who did a lot in enlightenment and missionary work in favor of  the Russian Church. In 1732, the decree was signed on the handover  of Primorsky dacha that along the Peterhof road, «The Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius   and Archimandrite Varlaam, and who through it, in this cell, Archimandrites will be in eternal possession.» Archimandrite Varlaam (Vysotsky), the spiritual father of Anna Ioannovna, was the worthy father superior of the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius near Moscow. The Sergius poustinia  was founded by him and had a positive significance both for the Petersburg Eparchius  and for Russian Church.

The  abstentious monastery occupied a small, almost square, area with a side of about 140m. It was surrounded by a wooden fence with corner towers. In the central square there was a wooden church of the Dormition of the Mother of God, blessed in honor of St.  Sergiy Radonezhsky. On both sides of the church are the monastic cells and the stone house of the arch-priest. Burdened with many church affairs, Archimandrite Varlaam did not visit the monastery so often, but he bequeathed to bury himself here. The wooden chapel of the Theotokos of Tikhvin was raised above his grave.
