Fantastic nose walking around St.Petersburg.

Did you know that there are 3 noses walking around St.Petersburg? But we are interested in the most incredible one - with thin and crooked legs, in an overcoat, with a hat and a cane in hands. The comical and elegant monument was installed in the courtyard of the Faculty of Philology of St. Petersburg State University in 2008, on the eve of the 200th anniversary of N.V. Gogol. The "Nose" is presented in full growth, in an elegant suit of a state councilor, hastily going on his business. The monument was established according to the annual tradition on The Day of The Philologist and Orientalist, and, thus, it replenished the collection of sculptures in the improvised open-air museum located at the Faculty of Philology. Timur Yusufov became the sculptor of the amazing character. It is noteworthy that in the production of the "Nose" he used stones brought by the largest universities in the world. By the way, behind the sculptural composition there is a whole garden of such stones. Of all the book and fabulous characters, Major Kovalev’s Nose turned out to be the most popular one. You might want  to “meet” other Noses as well. One, made of pink marble, adorns the facade of the house 36/11 on Voznesensky Prospekt (the story started from there according to the writer’s idea, when the barber found the nose in bread) and the same, but slightly reduced copy with an added pimple on the tip of the nose, on the building of the State Museum of Urban Sculpture on Nevsky Prospekt.
