A platform for coterie clubs, theatre and musical events

The Vyborgsky Palace of Culture was opened in 1927, on the tenth anniversary of the October Revolution. It became one of the first “houses of culture” in the USSR. There were performances, concerts, as well as creative clubs and workshops for children and adults there. In 1936 it hosted the first performance of composer Dmitry Dmitrievich Shostakovich.

The building has been extensively renovated several times. The Grand Auditorium of the Palace Culture is designed for 2000 people. Today, concerts of famous Russian and foreign performers, performances, creative evenings, children's and family celebrations are held here. Coterie clubs also continue to work in the recreation center: a theatre workshop, a photo club, and a dance studio. Their leaders organize photo exhibitions, evening dances and public master classes.
