“Open Workshops” is a creative center based on the Library named after Lermontov, which directly includes art workshops, lecture halls, exhibition and concert halls.

The work of the space is structured so that anyone can both gain knowledge in the field of applied and visual arts, and share them, learn and teach. New masters regularly join the project, so the list of classes is constantly growing.

Creative Space “Open workshops” is a non-profit project of alternative humanitarian education. The training takes place in several formats: open lectures, master classes of invited specialists, "one-day" trainings, as well as long-term classes for small groups, whose participants are selected by motivation letters.

Residents of the space conduct classes within the framework of author's courses in various areas: calligraphy and lettering, graphic stories (comics), computer animation, reportage and art photography, jewelry, carpentry and leather, drawing and painting, floristry, printing on fabric. Lectures on the history and theory of cinema, art, literature, and literary translation are regularly held here.

In addition to training, the "Open Workshops" host concerts, including with elements of cognitive storytelling, interactive lectures and creative meetings. Thanks to this cultural project, the very concept of a library took on a new meaning, supporting or arousing interest in the humanities among students of all ages.
