Saint Petersburg River Yacht Club

River Yacht Club on Petrovskaya Kosa offering sailing sports activities.

The River Yacht Club was founded in 1860 and was initially open only to members of the intelligentsia, including officials, diplomats, and officers. They regularly participated in sports competitions. It was only in 1912 that the ordinary youth were allowed into the club, but only as volunteers to service the ships.

After the 1917 revolution, the yacht club came under the People's Commissariat of Education of the RSFSR. During the Great Patriotic War (World War II), club members were involved in reconnaissance, took part in military operations, and defended the city.

Today, the marina of the yacht club can accommodate 350 yachts and small vessels. The pier is equipped with all the necessary infrastructure, including parking spaces, equipment storage areas, and mooring lines. The river yacht club also has its fleet of 60 sailing yachts.

The club houses a maritime school designed for children and offers similar educational programs tailored to students.
