A platform for performances, musicals and concerts

The building of the Palace of Culture was constructed in 1931-1938. Initially, the palace was named the House of Culture of the Industrial Cooperation, and in 1960 it was renamed in honor of Lensovet (the city council). In 1970, the facade was completely rebuilt. Bas-reliefs

symbolizing labor, theatre and music were placed above the entrance to the building. The Palace of Culture remained open even during the Great Patriotic War and the blockade of Leningrad.

Movies and plays were shown here, a library and clubs worked.

Today, the Recreation Center also hosts theatrical productions, concerts, musicals, performances of orchestras and comics. The auditorium of the palace accommodates more than 2000 people.

Creative clubs for children and adults are also open here: a drawing studio, a ballroom dance school, an Indian dance studio, a photo club, yoga classes. Part of the premises of the building is given over to offices and shops.
