The Pushkin School Theatre Studio in St. Petersburg was founded in 1992 on the eve of the 200th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin's birthday as a national and international creative organization dedicated to exploration of Pushkin's heritage.  The Pushkin Center successfully combines four types of activities - theater, festival, publishing and teaching. The performances of The Studio Theatre have been featured at international festivals in Stanford, Paris, Marseilles, Wrocław, Kiev, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, St. Petersburg.

The main stage of the Center is a suite of rooms of Kochneva's House (Fontanka river emb., 41). This house was built in 1805-1808 by architect L. Ruska. Its interiors are decorated with the original bas-reliefs by I. Terebenev (he is the author of legendary atlases of Hermitage). The principal staircase and the suit of rooms on the second floor are perfectly preserved and still keep the spirit of Pushkin's epoch.
