House of Culture with a concert hall and creative studios for children and adults

The construction of the leisure center began in the 1930s under the project of architects A.I. Gegello and D.L. Krichevsky. By 1941 it had been 70% built, but it suffered greatly and was almost destroyed during the Great Patriotic War. In 1947-1948 the process of restauration began,and in 1949 it was officially opened. Scientific lectures, dance evenings and concerts were held here.


In 2001, the Recreation Center received the status of a state institution of St. Petersburg. Today,more than 4 thousand people are engaged in creative collectives and coterie clubs of the“Izhorsky”. There are many free-of-charge classes in needlework, dancing, singing, folklore art,and playing musical instruments in the center. There are also performances and performances ofartists. The leisure center organizes holidays for adults and children — a Christmas tree,New Year's performances, the Shrovetide (Maslenitsa).
