Monument to the founder of the most prestigious award in the field of various sciences and peace consolidation.

In an abstraction made of twisted iron, it is impossible to recognize an outstanding scientist and the founder of the Nobel Prize without a plaque with his name on the pedestal.

The sculptural composition itself symbolizes the tree of life with twisted branches after the explosion. The fact that the explosion depicted on the monument is peaceful is evidenced by the dove leading the composition - the holy spirit protecting the tree from destruction by the forces of evil. The 4-meter-high monument is made of bronze and mounted on a gray polished granite pedestal.

The monument was installed in St. Petersburg for a reason: representatives of the Nobel dynasty lived and worked here for a long time.

The monument installation was initiated by the Nobel Foundation together with the International Foundation for History and Science on October 21, 1991. The grand opening was timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of the first Nobel Prize. The authors of the project were sculptors Sergey Yurievich Alipov and Pavel Onufrievich Shevchenko, architect - Vladimir Nikolaevich Zhuikov.
