The history of the Buff theatre dates back to 1983. That year the professor of Russian State Institute of performing arts Isaak Shtokbant together with the graduates of his course established the music and drama theatre.

The theatre has three stages: “The Main Stage”, “Cabaret Buff” and “Buffiks”. On the main stage the audience can enjoy the plays based on classic and contemporary pieces of world literature. In addition to the plays on the main stage, the “Cabaret Buff” puts on outstanding entertainment shows, dance and musical performances. For the young theatre-goers Buff offers a whole variety of plays and performances, in which children can take part. The performances for children are held on the stage of “Buffiks”, as well as on the main stage. The troupe of the theatre consists of the merited artists of the Russian Federation, laureates of Russian variety artists competitions.
