The cultural and educational centre started its activities in 2011 and as early as February that year its first theatrical season was opened. The theatre was founded by Alexey Kozyrev, who being a playwright and a script writer himself, considered Aleko’s main mission to encourage the audience to think about the issues of modern times. Various productions are held in the theatre for both adults and children. There is a special creative space for young spectators called “The city of fairy tales”, which combines interactive puppet shows inspired by beloved children’s fairy tales.

Besides theatrical performance, film showings are held in Aleko theatre, which is particularly appealing for adult audience. The repertoire includes musicals, comedies as well as plays based on oeuvres of great literary classics. Each viewer will surely find something to their liking.
