The Presidential Library, located in the very heart of St. Petersburg, is today an integral object of attention for tourists from all over the world, and for the city's residents - a source of pride and a place of exciting leisure.

In the library, the owner of an inquisitive and inquisitive mind will be able to make many new discoveries. This is exactly the place that a modern tourist will immediately include in his list of must-see city attractions.

First of all, tourists are attracted by the location of the Presidential Library: opposite the Alexander Garden and Senate Square, on the embankment of the Neva River, there is a magnificent architectural ensemble built in 1835 according to the design of the famous Italian master Carlo Rossi.

On May 27, 2009, on City Day, St. Petersburg received an unusual gift - a restored Senate building. It has a house church in honor of the Holy Fathers of the Seven Ecumenical Councils, and a modern Presidential Library complex has been opened - the only electronic library not only in the country, but also in the world, where you can go virtually for a rare book translated into digital format, and literally - on a tour.

The Presidential Library is a major cultural and educational center that has no analogues in Russia or abroad. Combining historical traditions and the latest technologies, the library forms a nationwide electronic resource, where books, periodicals, archival historical documents, newsreels, and educational films are collected in digital form. More than half of the collections are rare and unique: unlike ordinary libraries, where they are kept under lock and key, here anyone can study them.

For inquisitive tourists, this is a unique excursion site. During the excursion, visitors will get acquainted with the history and architectural features of the building, examine the restored interiors, learn about the main areas of the library's activities, its resources, and see a copy of the inaugural copy of the Constitution, on which all presidents of the Russian Federation took the oath. In addition, the exhibition halls of the Presidential Library always host a thematic exposition dedicated to historical dates or personalities.

There is another reason to visit the Presidential Library - a film club that provides an opportunity to watch auteur films in the company of critics, famous personalities, and most importantly - the creators of the films. In an informal and cozy atmosphere, film lovers, sitting in soft chairs, can debate with like-minded people and opponents at meetings in the Presidential Library film club. Information about screenings is regularly updated in the "Poster" section, as well as in official groups on social networks.
