Stone terrace-pier with sculptured images of sphinxes
Opposite the Kushelev-Bezborodko estate house, on the bank of the Neva, a stone terrace-pier with sculptural images of sphinxes was built. A beautiful view of the Neva opens from the terrace-pier. At the end of the XIX century, the sphinxes were lost and were restored only in 1957-1958. The sphinxes standing in the courtyard of the Stroganov Palace served as a model. The sphinxes transformed the Sverdlovskaya Embankment, adding a mysterious mystical color to it.
