Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol stayed in the apartment building
The mansion of the merchant Nikolai Galibin was built at the beginning of the XIX century and was a three-story building. At the end of the XIX century, it was subjected to serious reconstruction: a fourth floor was added. During the reconstruction, the position of the window frames was changed, and the external facades were also redesigned, becoming a living embodiment of the architectural classicism that was fashionable at that time.
