The history of plot No. 29 dates back to the 1740s, when the house of accountant I. M. Obukhov was located here.

The house was repeatedly rebuilt in the XIX century, in 1848 it was expanded and decorated according to the design of the architect R.B. Bernhard. Some of the rooms were decorated in the classical style, some in pseudo-Gothic.

In the late 1970s, the dilapidated house was dismantled to the ground and recreated from modern materials, and the interiors were recreated, where possible.

During the Soviet era, the building housed the administration of the Leningrad Regional Vnesheconombank of the USSR.
