Roerich Family Museum and Institute is not only a museum, but also a scientific center where the heritage of our great compatriots is under research
Roerich Family Museum and Institute was established in 2001. Its founder is L.Mitusova – the keeper of the artistic heritage of the Roerichs family. Since 2003 the Museum was housed in the mansion belonged to a famous artist and collector M.Botkin. The mansion was built by D.Tresini in 1720s according to the standard project of J.B.Leblon.

The most valuable artistic and documentary materials are in the collection of the Museum. Specialists of the museum still collect information about the history of the mansion and its former residents.
In the Museum the visitors are offered different exhibitions, excursions and seminars. Different events take place in the Museum on a regular basis: lections, conferences, concerts and festivals of classical, ethnic and folk music, artistic encounters, poetry readings, theatrical performances and more.
