The Philharmonic of Jazz Music in St. Petersburg was opened in January 1989 on the initiative of the world-famous jazz musician, People's Artist of Russia David Goloshchekin.

Currently, the Jazz Philharmonic is considered one of the elite clubs in the world. It is here that you can hear world-famous jazz musicians, performers of various genres: from blues and classical jazz music to its modern forms.

The Philharmonic has two halls: a large one - "Jazz Philharmonic Hall", and a small "Ellington Hall", named after the outstanding world-famous jazz musician Duke Ellington, who performed in Leningrad in 1971 in a joint concert with David Goloshchekin.

"Jazz Philharmonic Hall" is designed for 1800 seats and has a small dance floor (the so-called "dance hall"). The hall has tables for 2-6 people. The sound equipment is represented by SBN acoustic systems, which ensures high quality of truly live sound at any point in the hall. All week, except Monday, the best jazz musicians from Russia, America and Europe give concerts here.

The small "Ellington Hall" also hosts concerts of Russian and world jazz stars, jam sessions and "Jazz by Candlelight" programs. This is a fashionable hall with an exquisite interior, designed for comfortable seating of club guests at tables with cozy sofas. The capacity of the small hall is up to 40 people. The sound in the "Ellington Hall" is acoustic, which creates a unique feeling of direct contact between musicians and the audience. A European-standard bar is at your service. Concerts (Tuesday, Friday, Saturday) begin at 8 p.m. Group visits of tourist groups are possible upon prior request for both current concerts and specially organized events.
