Ice skating rink is opening this Saturday in New Holland

10 November 2020

On November 14, a winter skating rink will reopen on New Holland Island.  The 2000 M2 ice field is still located at the Main Stage, which this time will turn into a snowy winter forest.

Guests will be entertained by forest monsters invented by the team of the Creative Manufacturing "Theatre project". A terrace with fireplaces and comfortable chairs will be installed at the exit to the ice, where you can relax without taking off your skates, the press service of the island reports.  This year, resident DJs at NHI.FM radio have prepared musical accompaniment for the skating rink, and daily sessions at 18:00 will be themed.

At this time, it will be possible to skate by symphonic hits of big cinema, romantic songs of the Soviet stage, fabulous anthems of classical composers, Brazilian music of the 60s, Californian yacht rock, retro-futuristic electronics and other author's selections.  On Fridays and Saturdays at 22:00 there will be added a session in the Silent Disco format with musical accompaniment in wireless headphones.  Traditional trdelniks, coffee, cocoa and hot tea can be bought at a kiosk on Lipovaya Alley, located closer to the Bottles building.

The skating rink's ticket offices will he opened in the second kiosk along Lipovaya Alley, closer to Bld. 12.  All tickets including children are available online this year.  Visitors will be able to change clothes in the gallery located near to the ice field and hand over their personal belongings to the storage room which is located in the toilet block near the Main Stage.  It will be possible to rent ice hockey and figure skates from sizes 25 to 47.  Simulators will appear on the ice field for those who uncertainly hold onto

ice.  As in previous years, the skating rink is going to be equipped with a cooling system - the ice does not melt up to +10 degrees. One-hour breaks between sessions allow maintaining its quality throughout the day.  All necessary precautions will be taken to avoid the spread of the coronavirus infection.

As in previous years, there is a system of bonuses, thanks to which guests of the skating rink will be able to use privileges and discounts from residents of New Holland.  Bonus booklets will be handed out at the exit from the rink.

In addition to the ice rink, at the beginning of winter on the island it is planned to open Cococouture, a fine-dining project by Matilda Shnurova and Igor Grishechkin which will be located in the corner of Bld. 12 (overlooking Truda Square).  "The Bottle" building will also update its gastronomic resident list with Italian, Indian, Chinese and Hawaiian projects.

Finally, from December 18 to January 10, the traditional New Year's market will be held in New Holland.  Huge Nutcrackers will take their posts, and the main Christmas tree of the island will decorate the courtyard of "the Bottle".
