The State Academic Capella of St. Petersburg will host the exhibition Sleeping Beauty. Choreographic Symphony by PI Tchaikovsky ”. It is timed to coincide with the 180th anniversary of the composer's birth. This was reported in the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg.
The exhibition will feature photographs of scenes from the ballet, taken in the photo workshop at the Directorate of the Imperial Theaters.
More than 130 years have passed since the premiere of The Sleeping Beauty. Today it is impossible to imagine the history of Russian ballet without it. “You have a rare opportunity to travel back to 1890 and form your own idea of that distant premiere,” the committee said in a statement.
The exhibition will open on November 3 and run until November 30. It is noted that it will be possible to visit it only on concert days.
