On August 27, the Museum of 20th–21st centuries St. Petersburg Art will open the exhibition "Field of Experiments: A. Vedernikov, B. Ermolaev, V. Matyukh", reports the press service of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg.
The exhibition is dedicated to the work of three outstanding artists of the Leningrad school of graphics of the second half of the 20th century. The exposition includes more than 40 original works by Alexander Vedernikov, Boris Ermolaev and Vera Matyukh from the museum collection, created in the techniques of color lithography, autolithography and watercolors.
“The creative unity of such different in artistic manner authors is due to the “research spirit” that reigned in the unique Experimental Lithographic Workshop of the Leningrad Union of Artists, where they worked side-by-side in the 1930-60s. The workshop has had a significant impact on the formation of Russian graphic art,” says the statement.
