Pulkovo Airport has announced the 10 most demanded destinations in the last 6 months

23 July 2020

For the first half of 2020, the Russian cities Moscow, Kaliningrad, Sochi, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk and Simferopol were included in the list of the most demanded destinations from  St. Petersburg's airport in terms of passenger traffic.

In January-June 2020, Pulkovo served 22,699 takeoff and landing operations in these directions, and the total passenger traffic amounted to more than 2.1 million passengers.

It should be reminded that the Russian regional traffic at Pulkovo airport has been fully restored. So, in the period from 01 to 20 July 2020, the passenger traffic of the air harbor of St. Petersburg on regional routes exceeded half a million passengers, which corresponds to the indicators of the same period last year.

In order to ensure the safety of passengers and employees, the Air Force is implementing a powerful set of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and comply with the instructions of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare. In the passenger terminal of Pulkovo, in the check-in and inspection zones, special markings are applied to maintain the distance. Dispensers with hand sanitizer are installed in common areas. Cleaning regimes have been strengthened in airport premises, including elevators, check-in counters, information desks, security checkpoints, offices and staff lounges.

For disinfection, agents with antiviral activity are used. At Pulkovo, ladders and passenger buses are regularly disinfected. In places where passengers stay for a long time, the air is disinfected using ultraviolet recirculators. Airport personnel regularly receive protective masks, gloves, antiseptic wipes and gels. The first-aid post at Pulkovo Airport operates around the clock on the second floor of the passenger terminal.

Pulkovo Airport ranks fourth in terms of passenger traffic in Russia. In 2020, St. Petersburg airport became the winner of the annual national award "Air Gateway of Russia" as the best airport in the country based on the voting results of passengers and airlines. According to the Airports Council 2019 rating, Pulkovo was recognized as the best airport for the quality of service among European air hubs with an annual passenger traffic of 15-25 million people.

Since 2010, the main operator of St. Petersburg airport is the international consortium "Air Gateway of Northern Capital", which, on the basis of public-private partnership, manages the airport and projects its reconstruction and development.
