School children and university students can visit the Hermitage for free every third Thursday of the month

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Hermitage is forced to limit the number of categories of visitors entitled to reduced-price or free tickets to the museum every third Thursday of the month.
 


When the main museum of St. Petersburg opens its doors to guests on July 15, only certain social categories, which have this right in accordance with the current legislation of the Russian Federation, will be able to enter the Hermitage free of charge. These categories are: Heroes of the Soviet Union,

Heroes of the Russian Federation and Full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory, regardless of citizenship. From August 1, on the third Thursday of every month,persons under the age of 18, students and large families will be able to visit the museum with tickets issued freeof charge.

For all other citizens, “free Thursdays” have been cancelled. According to the General Director of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, the unique offer will be resumed from December 1, providing the pandemic subsides.
