Manege will open with the exhibition “As They See Us. A Portrait of Russia by the Magnum Agency”

06 July 2020

On July 6, Manege Central Exhibition Hall resumes its work. The first exhibition project open to the visitors is the exposition “As They See Us. A Portrait of Russia by the Magnum Agency”, created in collaboration with the Magnum Photos agency and curator and photo historian Nina Gomiashvili.

The exhibition will cover the history of the USSR/Russia from 1947 to 2019 through the works of legendary documentary photographers, such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, Eve Arnold, Thomas Dworzak, Bruno Barbey, Steve McCurry, Martin Parr and others. Manege will present more than 250 works by 39 photographers, some of which will be on public display for the very first time.

Manege’s top priority is health and safety of its visitors and employees. Together with the government of St. Petersburg, the St. Petersburg Committee for Culture, and Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing), the exhibition hall has developed a set of measures that will protect the guests during their visit to Manege.

The list of new visitor rules is available on the website of the exhibition center.
