Much attention is paid to spring washing of trees, which is necessary for green spaces’ existence in the conditions of a metropolis, according to the Committee for City Improvement of St. Petersburg. By April 16, over 9,000 trees had already taken a spring shower.
As a part of the month's cleanup campaign, washing of the so-called “smaller architectural forms” is also underway. Over the first half of April, gardeners and park service workers have already washed more than 21,000 garden benches, about 7,000 flowerpots and nearly 2,500 pieces of children's and sports equipment using disinfectant solutions. Over 2,000 manual workers and 935 units of equipment took part in the work.
