A fan zone for ice hockey fans will appear in the very centre of Saint Petersburg – on the Konyushennaya Square. The press service of the vice-governor Vladimir Kirilov informs: “The chosen place is a zone with heavy pedestrian traffic. The location of the fan zone will not cause any transport stream overlaps and is optimal in terms of security and creation of comfortable conditions for the fans.”
According to the plan there will be two interactive zones on the square as well as widescreen displays for Ice Hockey World Championship match broadcasts.
Saint Petersburg Festival of ice hockey fans, which is dedicated to the conduction of the Ice Hockey World Championship, starts on May 6, 2016. It is expected that the Festival will host about 50 thousand visitors.
