St. Petersburg greet New Year with dachshund

25 December 2017

Dachshund in a sweater will congratulate everyone on the upcoming holidays as a part of the traditional New Year light show on the Palace Square. The first show is scheduled for December 28 at 18:00.

Light show will be held from December 28 to December 31. On the General Staff Building facade will be projected a huge image of the 2018 year symbol - a dog or, more precisely, a dachshund wearing warm sweater.

This year show plans to become more musical. The projections will be accompanied by compositions, which are familiar to many from childhood.

"We have all the songs in remixes. This is done in order to let people at the square dance to them around the city's main tree. We chose such new songs as "Snow is coming", "I'm taking you to the tundra" and many others. All compositions will be switched through special music equipment, into which the General Staff Building facade will be reincarnated. And of course, all the days leading and operators will work at the event, which means that anyone who comes to the square can become the projection show protagonist and appear on the big screen", said Vladimir Demekhin, a creative director of the LBL communication group.

A light show can be seen for four days in the evening. Full light show duration will be 30 minutes.
