The annual international theater festival at the Alexandrinsky theatre aims to present the art of national theaters of different countries to develop various classical stage traditions and aimed at search of modern means of theatrical expression. The preservation of traditions and the desire to speak with the viewer on a modern stage language, - a task which is urgent for any of the national theatrical culture. World experience in this direction and aims to demonstrate to the international theatre festival "Alexandrinsky".
The festival programme will include performances of the works of the classics of national cultures and modern drama productions, performances of the luminaries of contemporary film Directors and young Directors.
September 10, 2016 premiere of Attila Vodnanskeho "Crime and punishment" based on F. Dostoyevsky's novel opens X international theatre festival "Alexandrinsky". In the program of the festival includes performances of the leading theatres of Italy, Israel, China, South Africa and Japan.
