Alexander Fisun thinks in painting about humans, existential problems of our being and self-identification
He appeals to diverse scenes in order to form a single line. All this daily-life stories about “average” man lack drama. No determined conflict, but general questions of self-understanding in terms of reality and individual relations with the world are the object of artistic research. Fisun’s characters lack emotions and look aloof combining doll-like impersonality with expressive, but impossible to catch eyesight, they seem to be looking inside themselves. Characters seem both out of scene and out of place. The exhibition shows works of different periods connected by the interpretation of person-surroundings problem.
