Little garden "Saint-Germain" is located in the courtyard of an ordinary apartment building on Liteyny prospekt. It is one of those gardens which have preserved its original look.
All greenery is hidden from the view and the noisy avenue by old houses. The name "Saint-Germain" has been changing many times to the "Palais Royal" or "Belvedere" always reminding of the garden’s French origin. Fyodor Chaliapin and Anna Akhmatova came there once. In the '70s you could find there Joseph Brodsky, Sergei Dovlatov, Boris Grebenshchikov and other visitors of the creative cafe "Saigon". Really spectacular view opens for those who manage to get into the garden.
