Originally had no name of its own
Originally the embankment was called the Palace Embankment, it was a continuation of the modern Palace Embankment. Later it was called Gagarinskaya, Voskresenskaya. Until the middle of the XIX century, in the alignment of Gagarinskaya Street was Gagarinskaya marina, which gave the name of the street facing the embankment.
The length of the Kutuzov embankment is 720 meters. It begins at the junction of Liteiny Prospect with the Liteiny Bridge.
