The observation deck of the Duma Tower on Nevsky Prospekt will open on September 9. It was reported by the "Gorod +" news web portal.
The deck will work in test mode. The number of visitors who are allowed to go to the top of the tower will be 10 per hour.
It should be noted that more than two hundred steps lead to the top of the tower. In addition to a panoramic view of the city, visitors will be able to see the watch mechanism of the tower created in the 19th century and an exhibition dedicated to the city on the Neva River and Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
“The City Duma Tower has never been an observation deck before. Initially it was a fire tower, then it was converted into a visual telegraph tower, later it became a fire tower again. Only ministers were allowed to go to the top of the tower”, said Viktor Vorotnikov, director of the Tchaikovsky Center for Musical Culture.
Some time ago the building of the Duma Tower was given to the Tchaikovsky Center for Musical Culture. Its decoration got repaired.
