St. Petersburg Metro Celebrates Birthday

St. Petersburg Metro celebrates its birthday on November 15. It turned 63 years old.

The first metro line of the Northern Capital was commissioned from ‘‘Avtovo’’ to ‘‘Ploshad’ Vosstaniya’’ on November 15, 1955. Its length was about 11 kilometres.

In honour of the 63rd anniversary of the St. Petersburg Metro Foundation, a new virtual station was launched where a journey through one of the most beautiful metro in the world begins.

It’s worth to mention that the total length of St. Petersburg metro routes is 118.6 kilometres. In total, there are five lines with 69 station opened in the metro of the Northern Capital.
