In the Northern Capital, 11 mobile restaurants will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Ploschad' Ostrovskogo (Ostrovskogo Square), on the west side of the Alexandrinsky Theater building.
For a month, a caravan of food trucks with the names of host cities "Moscow", "St. Petersburg", "Saransk", "Samara", "Nizhny Novgorod", "Yekaterinburg", "Kaliningrad", "Kazan", "Volgograd", "Sochi" and "Rostov-on-don" overcame more than 12,000 kilometers and visited seven football capitals of the 2018 World Cup. The event venues were visited by over 20 thousand foreign and Russian fans and city residents. Chefs, restaurateurs and Russian producers of food products presented a special "football menu", which in different cities was complemented by local delicacies and authentic dishes. For fans at World Cup the food festival was, perhaps, the only chance to get acquainted with the dishes of regional Russian cuisine, which fit in the palm of your hand, in such a variety.
In St. Petersburg, a key moment of the festival will be the presentation and tasting of a street food version of the world-famous "Anna Pavlova" dessert. "Anna Pavlova" dessert that fits in one hand (one-hand-food), will be presented by the North-Metropol (St. Petersburg) – the confectionery production with 115-year history.
Saint Petersburg was named the winner in two nominations World Travel Awards in 2017: World's Leading Cultural City Destination 2017 and World's Leading City Destination 2017. Regional cuisine is worth to travel around the regions of our great homeland, " commented Ekaterina Shapovalova, the project coordinator.
