Stadium St. Petersburg popular among fans

According to the TurStat analytical agency, in total, more than 2 million 177 thousand people saw the 2018 World Cup matches of the group stage at Russian stadiums, and on average more than 45 thousand spectators visited one championship match.

The stadium "Luzhniki" in Moscow hosted the most popular matches of the 2018 World Cup, and "Yekaterinburg Arena" – the least popular one. 78 thousand 11 spectators visited all the four matches held in "Luzhniki", and the match in Ekaterinburg – 27 thousand 15 spectators.

Saint Petersburg takes the first place in the average number of spectators of the 2018 World Cup match at the end of the group stage.

In the top 10 cities of the 2018 World Cup matches attendance are Moscow (489,000 spectators, 61,000 on average per match), St. Petersburg (257,000 / 64,000 for the match), Sochi (176,000 / 44,000 per match ), Rostov-on-Don (173 thousand / 43 thousand per match), Nizhny Novgorod (172 thousand / 43 thousand per match), Kazan (169 thousand / 42 thousand for the match), Samara (163 thousand / 41 thousand per match), Volgograd (161 thousand / 40 thousand per game), Saransk (160 thousand / 40 thousand per game), Kaliningrad (132 thousand / 33 thousand per game) and Yekaterinburg (125 thousand / 31 thousand per match).

The top ten most visited games of the group stage includes four matches at the "Luzhniki" stadium in Moscow, which were visited by at 78 thousand 11 spectators a game, four matches at the stadium "Saint Petersburg", attended by at 64 thousand 468 spectators a match, one game at the stadium "Fisht" in Sochi (44 thousand 287 spectators) and a match at the stadium "Spartak" in Moscow (44 thousand 190 spectators).
