Monument to cats of blockade Leningrad

On the Victory Day, in St. Petersburg was opened an unusual monument dedicated to cats. During the siege of Leningrad, these animals saved the city from rats.

A bronze cat sitting on a chair placed near by Metro station “Ozerki” (ulitsa Kompozitorov, 4). On the plaque of the monument it is written: "In memory of the cats of the blockade Leningrad".

The opening was timed to the day of the 73rd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
