The organizers of the Goût de France are the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the chef Alain Ducasse. The festival will be held in 150 countries on five continents. Three thousand restaurants will participate in it with their unique ideas of French cuisine menu. As it was said, the main purposes of the gastronomic festival are an accent on the lifestyle of France and products of this region. Also it must emphasize attractiveness of the country for tourist.
Among other things, the exhibitions, degustation, competitions and conferences will be held in St. Petersburg in the framework of Goût de France gastronomic festival. For example, one of the planned events will be a contest for the most creative review of one the dishes which served in the participating restaurants. Full programme of festive events will be available later but it is already know that a festive dinner with the participation of famous St. Petersburgers and Consul General of France in St. Petersburg Hugo de Chavagnac will be held on March 25.
Each year, the honorary region of France is chosen. In 2017 it is New Aquitaine which includes, for example, Toulouse and Bordeaux.
More than 60 restaurants of Russia will take part in the festival and 36 of them are in St. Petersburg. The menu will consist of several aperitifs, snacks, one or several main courses, cheeses, dessert and drinks.
