Preliminary program of City Day was announced

In May 2018, St. Petersburg will celebrate its 315th anniversary. What festivities were prepared by the City Administration told the Chairman of the City’s Committee for Culture Konstantin Sukhenko.

Well-known to petersburgers and guests of the city the Gala-concert «Classics at the Palace Square» will be held at 20 o'clock on May 26 and will become the beginning of the main festive events. When concert ends, there will be held the governor’s reception in the framework of the International Economic Forum, the entrance to which will be limited. Also, even before the Day of the city starts, on the square will be organized a traditional choral concert.

On the night of May 27, in front of the Admiralty building will take place the Singing Bridges show. It will be accompanied by a symphony orchestra. At midnight the Rostral Columns will be lighted up.

Such celebratory events as parade of marine engineering and parade of retro transport, theatrical parade with orchestras and drummers, festival of ice cream and the circus festival are scheduled for these two days (26 and 27 May) on the territory of the city. Grandiose fireworks will end this holidays.

Konstantin Suhenko expressed hope that the St. Petersburg Ice Hockey Club SKA wins the Gagarin Cup as in the last year. In this case, holiday will be supplemented by the passage of the SKA players with a trophy in the open bus.
