«Ask me…» — Evgeny Pankevich on radio live broadcast

On 5 September, the Director-General of the City Tourist Information Bureau became a "Guest of the Day" on Konstantin Petruk's radio programme. Replying to questions about the about the results of the St. Petersburg travel industry for the first half of 2017, Evgeny Pankevich, in particular, told about the volunteer service "Ask Me", about the website Visit Petersburg and many other things.

In his interview, Evgeny Pankevich paid special attention to the work of City Tourist Information Bureau in the area of marketing and promotion of Saint Petersburg tourism brand both in the domestic Russian market and abroad. 

He believes that it is necessary to draw attention to St. Petersburg as to the city of events, and to convey to the tourists that it can be interesting to stay in St. Petersburg not only in high season but also in all seasons. To this end, the City Tourist Information Bureau, work  together with travel companies on new tourist routes. 

For example, for the residents of Celestial Empire, who are vividly interested in Lenin's sights in Saint Petersburg, and Russian people liked the routes following the scenery of «The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson» and  «War and Peace» television serial by BBC. Now the route "Theatre quarter" is currently under development, and its opening is scheduled for November. All tourist information, City News, information on weather, hotels and transport, and much more – all of this can be found on the Visit Petersburg website in Russian, English, Chinese, Spanish, German, French and Turkish, and, furthermore, we have plans for the introduction of Korean and Japanese languages.

The next promotional tool for St. Petersburg is the opening of St. Petersburg's information offices abroad. The first office was opened in Paris on the basis of the Russian Visa Centre, after that offices were opened in China (Shanghai and Hong Kong), India (Mumbai and New Delhi), Barcelona, Yerevan ... The office in Tehran was from 7 September 2017. In the plans for 2018 is Macao.
