Chendu, China will host the following 22nd Session of the UNWTO General Assembly. It will be held from 11 to 16 September 2017.

It was no coincidence that the —Āapital of China's Sichuan province was chosen as a venue for such a prestigious ceremony. This city is one of the most attractive tourism destinations of Celestial Empire. It is known as the "homeland of pandas" among the foreign guests, as well as the ancient center that is full of historical monuments. The Dujiangyan, an ancient irrigation system near Chengdu city, as well as Mount Qingcheng and Wuhou Temple are well preserved up to now.

Year by year the center of Southwest China is becoming increasingly open to travellers. Here the transit tourists can stay 72 hours without a visa. Chengdu has direct flight connections with more than 200 countries of the world. You can go by airplane even to distant London from Chengdu.

Interestingly, the number of foreign tourists has increased three times in six years. As a result of these achievements, Chengdu became the second Chinese city after Beijing to host the session of the UNWTO General Assembly. The delegation from St. Petersburg will participate in this session.

On 6 September at the Palace Square took place a youth flash mob in order to promote Saint Petersburg as a venue of the 23rd General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
