Saint-Petersburg uses a new method on water purification

Specialists of the Faculty of Biotechnology of the Polytechnic University of St. Petersburg and the Technological Institute of Hamburg signed an agreement on the development and cultivation of algae.

The mission of scientists is the implementation  of innovations in manufacturing. Research showed that not only useful algal components can be used, but even the remaining trace elements. The plant remains will be used as material for the purification of natural and waste water. Project cost is 90 million, half of the cost is invested by each of the countries. The agreement was signed in connection with the 60th anniversary of the friendly ties between St. Petersburg and Hamburg.
