Tourists celebrate the Victory Day in Saint Petersburg

04 May 2017

Saint Petersburg is one of the three cities most visited by Russian tourists during the Victory day. As the analysis service of the Tourist Statistics Agency says, Petersburg is the second most popular destination after Moscow.

On May, 9 tourists will be able to see the traditional military ship parade in Petersburg, while Moscow will not provide this possibility to its guests. The Victory parade in Petersburg is going to be no less spectacular than in the capital city. This year not only army regiments are going to march through the streets of our city, but also combat vehicles, and battle-planes are going to take part in the parade for the first time in history.

Except Moscow and Petersburg, tourists often visit Sevastopol, Vladivostok, Volgograd, Murmansk, Novorossiysk, Tula, Pskov and Smolensk. As for foreign cities, Russians often celebrate the Victory Day in Prague, Berlin and Budapest.

The rating is based on the quantity of booked hotel rooms. The agency says that visiting Petersburg on the Victory Day costs on average 3.500 roubles.
