U Finlyandskogo (Near Finland Station) Concert Hall hospitably opens its doors for visitors for more than 50 years
The history of the Concert Hall is rich with performances of bright stars and talents.
The philharmonic orientation of concert activities was defined in the 60-ies. Each season was opened with the author's concert of the great composer D. Shostakovich.
The country's leading soloists,Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra took part in the concerts, and the son of the composer M. Shostakovich performed as a conductor. Masters of the art of literate writing, popular performers also performed at this concert hall.
In the 70-ies one more creative direction of the concert hall was determined: that was the jazz. In the early 80's, the audience attended the author's concerts of songwriters. There were performances and literary evenings with participation of well-known actors of theater and cinema, film directors, which had also met with success.
The hall was always looking for new forms of art, not afraid of experiments, was striving for the discovery of new names.
