The exposition includes rocket engineering items, unique documents and reports, rooms of engineers and developers, landing section of Soyuz 16, space suits, in flight suits and sample of foodstuffs

Visitors of the museum could  see engineering units of rocketry, unique documents, certificates of authorship, reconstructed constructor's laboratories. Original vehicle of a legendary spaceship "Soyuz-16" is exhibited in the exposition, as well as spacesuits, that indeed saved the lives of austronauts.

The museum is located in Ioannovskiy ravelin of Peter and Paul Fortress - a historical and fortification monument of XVIII century. 

The fortress is closely connected with the development of Russian rocket and missile engineering. In 1932 – 1933 the Ioannovsky Ravelin housed a Gas-Dynamic laboratory, which in 1973 became the Museum of Space Exploration and Rocket Technology.
