The Alexander Garden, projected by Eduard von Regel, was opened on July 20, 1874

The Garden occupies 9 ha and is surrounded by many points of interests, such as the Winter Palace, Palace square, Admiralty, General Staff Building, Senate and Sinode buildings, St. Isaak Cathedral and the Bronze Horseman. The garden is included in the World Heritage List in complex with the surrounding historical area.
