The ‘Arctic: Territory of Dialogue’ 5th International Arctic Forum will be held on 9–10 April in St. Petersburg
The International Arctic Forum has been held since 2010 and is the largest platform for discussing topical issues and prospects for the development of the Arctic region with international partners. The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
The main theme of the upcoming Forum is ‘The Arctic: An Ocean of Opportunity’. Experts invited to take part in the Forum's sessions and discussions will focus on the current and near future prospects for the territorial development of the Arctic regions with regards to manufacturing, the energy sector, construction, maritime shipping, tourism, education, and scientific research.
The Forum will be attended by relevant ministry and agency representatives from the world's leading countries, heads of Russian federal subjects, officials, experts, and scientists.
The International Arctic Forum 2019 exhibition will showcase Russian environmental, scientific, and cutting-edge technological achievements related to development of the Russian Arctic, investment projects in the Russian Arctic zone, and increasing the standards of living in Russia's Arctic regions. Forum partners – leading Russian and international companies – will present their own achievements and plans and organize thematic networking areas at the Forum venue.
For the first time this year, St. Petersburg will host the International Arctic Forum. In previous years, the forum was held in Moscow, Salekhard, and Arkhangelsk.
In 2017, the Forum was attended by over 2,400 participants, including 468 media representatives from Russia and 31 other countries.
