May 10 — July 22, 1906 is the period of existence of the First Russian State Duma in Tavrichesky Palace
The First State Russian Duma was the first representative counselling legislative body elected by the people of Russia. The calling of Duma was a result of an attempt to turn Russia — an autocratic monarchy — into a parliamentary monarchy. The body was deemed to normalize the political situation in the country in response to numerous troubles and revolutionary actions. The Emperor dissolved the Duma 72 days after formation.
