St. Petersburg International Festival «All TOGETHER OPERA» is an annual city event that has traditionally been the center of great attention among citizens and visitors alike. The festival introduces the audience to the outstanding masterpieces of foreign and national opera classics in open-air format. Admission is free. Citizens and visitors of St. Petersburg get the chance to see the most popular worldwide opera productions completely free of charge.

Festival «All Together Opera» maintains its social character, which is especially important for the regular viewers of the project and for all who love opera. Like in the years before, the admission to the open-air performances will be free. Residents and visitors of St. Petersburg will have an opportunity to watch the most popular operas of the world repertoire completely free of charge.

The main goal of the Festival «All Together Opera» remains the same, which is facilitating the process of bringing the wide audience closer to the best creations of the human spirit. Opera genre has huge capacity for achieving this goal, because opera is the most popular music art considering the scope of means. Opera includes soloists, orchestra, choir and ballet. Opera can influence with an inventive visual sequence. Besides, opera genre has its hits, which, if available, can attract the hearts of people.

Traditionally the Festival «All Together Opera» will stage its performances not inside the pompous opera theaters, but inside the most beautiful architectural ensembles of St. Petersburg, making them full-scale participants of the scenic act. Architectural cityscapes, which refer to different national schools and style eras, will be considered by the stage managers of the festival as natural settings and back stage for the music drama art.

The Festival «All Together Opera» always shows its high artistic level of the performances, involving the best orchestras and choir ensembles of the city and leading soloists of music theaters of St. Petersburg, Moscow and Europe. The operas are performed in the original languages.

In all these years the open-air performances attracted large audiences. According to the approximate estimates, over 150 thousand people attended festival opera performances in six years. The festival relentlessly follows its social mission – the admission to all open-air performances is traditionally free.

The idea of the Festival «All Together Opera» is to facilitate the process of familiarization of the audience with the best creations of human spirit. Opera makes it possible, because opera, with all its tools, is the most popular form of musical art. Opera includes singers, orchestra, choir and ballet. Opera can influence people with its ingenious visual array. Moreover, opera genre has its smash hits, which, if made available, can touch people’s hearts.

ALL TOGETHER OPERA». «THE TSAR’S BRIDE»

The festival will traditionally open on 12 July on the Day of the Saint Apostles Peter and Paul in the very heart of St. Petersburg at the Cathedral Square of the Peter and Paul Fortress. A masterpiece by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov – «The Tsar’s Bride» – will be performed on that day. It’s an opera that is a part of the golden fund of Russian music theatre art.

«The Tsar’s Bride» is attributed to the mature period of creative life of the Russian classic. High strength of feeling and exceptional music lyricism distinguish this work, which depicts important characters of Russian history - oprichniks of Ivan the Terrible, Bomeliy, the Tsar's physician and Tsar's fiancée Marfa Sobakina. A musical-historical painting will blend seamlessly into the space of the Cathedral Square in Peter and Paul fortress, as it corresponds to the spirit of sacred center of the Russian state.

The opera will be staged by the well-known Russian stage director, Artistic Director of the Moscow State Academic Children’s Music Theater Named After Natalya Sat Georgy Isaakyan. Stage Designer – Julia Goltsova. Music Director – Artistic Director of the Festival «All Together Opera» Fabio Mastrangelo. The Saint-Petersburg Northern Sinfonia Orchestra of the Music Hall Theatre. «ALL TOGETHER OPERA». «MACBETH»

On 15 July one of the most famous operas by Giuseppe Verdi – «Macbeth» - will be performed at the Cathedral Square of the Peter and Paul Fortress.

The famous Italian Maestro has repeatedly turned to the Shakespeare’s drama. Due to vivid portrayal of characters, power of musical and dramatic conflict, the «Macbeth» opera measures up to the great literary original.

Organizers of the festival believe that the Cathedral Square within the Peter and Paul fortress and, in particular, one of the walls they have chosen as a kind of backdrop will perfectly match the harsh images created for us by  English  medieval period, genius play-writer Shakespeare and musical genius of Verdi.

Stage Director – Principal Stage Director of the Astrakhan State Theatre of Opera and Ballet Constantine Balakin. Stage Designer – Julia Goltsova. The opera will be performed by the Taurida International Symphony Orchestra. Conductor – People’s Artist of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria Mikhail Golikov. Opera Choir led by Julia Khutoretskaya.

«ALL TOGETHER OPERA». «MANON LESCAUT»

On 19 July an opera of the outstanding Italian composer Giacomo Puccuni «Manon Lescaut» will be performed in The Kirov Central Culture and Leisure Park in front of the Yelagin Island Palace.

It is one of the most heartfelt verismo operas and one of the world's most popular Puccini operas. The novel by Abbé Prévost, which depicted the morals and relations of the ancienneregime (old regime) era, in the musical drama by Puccini turned into a romantic hymn of love, the eternal story of Men and Women.

Romantic Park of Yelagin Island, the elegant design of the Yelagin Palace facade will create the perfect mood for the perception of Puccini's masterpiece.

«ALL TOGETHER OPERA». «DIE ENTFÜHRUNG AUS DEM SERAIL»

This year the festival «All Together Opera» will continue the tradition of staging operas against the background of architectural masterpieces of the suburbs of St. Petersburg. A rarely performed opera by great Mozart «Die Entführung aus dem Serail» will be performed on 22 July at the Main Courtyard of the Catherine Palace in Tsarskoye Selo.

Strange as it is, but this cheerful opera is a rare guest on bills of Russian theatres. Only a few are aware that this Mozart's work is directly connected with Russia: It was written in 1882 year and dedicated to the visit to Vienna of Сrown Prince Grand Duke Paul Petrovich and his wife Grand Duchess Maria Feodorovna, who were travelling through Europe under the name of Severnie Dukes. The Turkish theme was chosen as a mark of respect to Russia which has won the war with Turkey. «Die Entführung aus dem Serail» is a true masterpiece, abundant with magnificent arias,  witty ensembles and colourful exotic of "Turkish music".

Gorgeous facade of the Catherine Palace as architectural masterpiece of the rococo style and "Turkish baths" in a Park nearby are perfectly in character with the music masterpiece of the same epoch.

The opera will be staged by the stage director, Art Director of the Festival «All Together Opera» Victor Vysotsky. Conductor – Music Director of the «All Together Opera» Festival Fabio Mastrangelo. The Saint-Petersburg Northern Sinfonia Orchestra of the Music Hall Theatre.
