On April 15, 1942 tram traffic in Leningrad was restarted after more than 4 months without operation

The tram traffic in the besieged Leningrad stopped on December 8, 1941 due to insufficient electric power. The traffic was never stopped during the wartime since, even with the bombing and shooting. In the tram depot on Vasilievsky island there is a memorial board to mark this fact.
