Exhibition of paintings about the siege of Leningrad

On 17 January, 2018 an exhibition "A moment between the past and future" of the artist Elena Marttila was opened at the exhibition center of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists. The subjects of paintings are people's lives in the besieged Leningrad.

The exhibition, consisting of engravings and other works is dedicated to the 75 anniversary of theLeningrad Siege breakthrough. In 2018, Elena Oskarovna Marttila celebrates her 95th anniversary. During the Great Patriotic War she studied at the Leningrad Art School.  The pictures depict the life of ordinary people during the blockade, the evacuation of children through the Ladoga Lake, as well as portraits of famous residents of Leningrad, for example, Dmitry Shostakovich and Olga Bergholz.

The work of the exhibition will last until January 28. Look at the pictures can be from 12 to 19 o'clock at the address ul. Bolshaya Morskaya, 38.
