This year the opening of the International Music Festival EARLYMUSIC takes place in New Holland!

EARLYMUSIC is a festival of music of the Baroque, Renaissance, Middle Ages and Classicism in its authentic performance that binds the Russian culture with its European past. The festival revives court music of the 18th century and music of Russian manor houses, shows music traditions of Russian ethnic groups and links Europe with a lot of different cultures: Persian, Japanese, Ottoman, Chinese, Korean, etc.

EARLYMUSIC was found in St.Petersburg in 1998 by Elizabeth White (director of the British Council from 1998 to 2001), Mark de Moni and baroque violinist Andrey Reshetin. The festival is annual and it takes place in concert-halls and palaces of St.Petersburg and its suburbs in September. Some concerts are repeated in Moscow and other Russian cities.

The EARLYMUSIC festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Culture Committee of St.Petersburg. St.Petersburg foreign consulates and culture institutes are permanent partners of the festival.
